Frame Welder

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurately follow work orders and shop drawings to plan layout, assemble and weld steel framing to final product.
• Examine frame workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications prior to welding.
• Ability to visualize 3 dimensional objects from 2 dimensional drawings.
• Safely operate various shop tools such as angle grinder, drill press, saw-all, drill, abrasive saw and compound miter saw.
• Assist with quality control by checking measurement and finished product to ensure organizational standards are meet.
• Ability to follow daily schedule to ensure master schedule deadlines are maintained.
• Enter stop and start times on a computer to ensure schedules are accurately maintained.
• Ability and willingness to assist other departments to meet schedule deadlines when called upon.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements:

• Able to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to kneel, bend and stand up to 8 hours per day performing various task.
• Ability to climb in and out of frames when require.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Mig experience welding 3/8” - 1/2” plate,16 ga tube steel, and .10 wall aluminum tube.
• Assembly fabrication required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to accurately read, understand and demonstrate how to use a tape measure to the nearest 1/16” of an inch.
• Excellent decimal and fraction mathematical skills.
• Must be drug free; drug screening required.
• Must have dependable transportation.

Working Hours

6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime possible.
